EDIT: Okay you guys, it looks like the day everyone is free is Saturday 6 June and the best time is 6:50pm. So let's meet at the ticket booth for the cinemas (which is three levels up from the train station, IIRC?) at, say, 6:30 to get tickets and then let the festivities begin! And we can go to the pub or something afterwards to debrief if people are into that :D

[info]pink_soprano and I are pretty hard to miss - her hair is purple, and mine's blonde and pink - so come find us and introduce yourselves! If you could officially RSVP here so we know who to expect, that'd be awesome too.

But now i want to add Tuesday as a very very good day because a) i am a cheap ass and tuesdays at MC are cheap and b) its closer than any of the other good days and i am impatient to see this movie again dammit.

Indeed it does, and I think 6:50 seems to be the preferred time for most people. I guess that's it then!

It's pretty much directly above the station, I think three floors up? Or if you go in to Melbourne Central at the corner of Swanson and Latrobe streets (opposite the state library, where the gelati place is) you take the escalators up to the food court and then up again and you're on the cinema level. I think.

i live in box hill, so if get on a train at box hill and go to melbourne central station, then go up to level three the cinema will be there.

BTW how many of us are there going to be and are we going to be play the ONTD_Star Trek Drinking Game http://community.livejournal.com/ontd_startrek/136730.html?#cutid1

I think that's right, but if I'm wrong it's not too hard to find. It's in the same building as the train station.

It looks like there'll be five or six of us, and we can't really play the drinking game because alcohol isn't allowed in the cinemas. Maybe if this goes well, when the DVD comes out we should play the drinking game at someone's house :D

i was looking a the hoyst site to get a exact address so i could put into google map, and while i was there i decided to check the cinema time the sat. the is only one day that the movie is showing and it not a sat it on wed.

and the half pipe session are at
12:00PM 4:20PM 8:50PM.

*facepalm* I'm sure it didn't say that when we last checked, but it very clearly does now. Boo for Star Trek starting to leave cinemas!!! I'm not sure how we'll cope :(

The halfpipe cinema sounds really cool (it's basically normal cinema...except instead of seats you have GIANT BEANBAGS to sit on, but it's a bit more expensive) Crown may be a better bet after all. I'll have a chat to [info]mawaridi when she wakes up and we'll get another poll up/message people about the impending change in plans.

Damn! I woke up this morning thinking "oh crap, I hope Star Trek doesn't start leaving cinemas and screwing up all my plans" and there you have it. I say we move the meet to the 7pm session at Crown, in that case. Not a huge change, in terms of time.

there i tram line that runs right past the crown complex right i think its the 109, is there a train station near by.
