Surprise chicken!
There is a random chicken in my front yard (!)

This is very strange.

That is very cool. It reminds me of a question on a feedback noticeboard that [info]dawnglider saw in the library at Melbourne Uni - "Are chickens allowed in the library? Because I saw someone had one in their bag." How cute would that be?

!!! I want to take a chicken into the library!

Now I want a t-shirt that says "are chickens allowed in the library?" Just because it is random and cute. Heee.

I know! It would be all warm and round in a shoulder bag, and as you walked it would make little soothing 'buurrk buurrk' noises!

Now I want a t-shirt that says "are chickens allowed in the library?"
That would be a very cool t-shirt. *wants*

I wouldn't be surprised if that person with the chicken was a friend of mine. I've been out to dinner with her a couple of times, and she's revealed a guinea pig in her handbag...

Plus, she does have chickens. Although she technically doesn't study at Melbourne Uni anymore. She did, though!

:)

Chickens are cool. There's one that lives along the riverfront in my hometown. There's this narrow strip of parkland between the floodwall and the water, with several thousand water dragons - and a chicken :)

Heh. I wonder what someone would think if they went through an LJ persons photobucket album. So many random pictures with no explanations :)

do they wander free range round your garden?

They have a hutch and a fairly sizable run, they also often escape into the garden.

You could have him...except I have no idea what happened to it. Random chicken one day...no chickens to be seen the next :( Oh well, it was an exciting interlude in a boring afternoon yesterday :)

Heh. Wildlife can be so surprising. :-)

I recently went for tea at a fancy little tea house a few miles out of town. It's near a little country village sort of mall, so I wasn't surprised to hear a rooster crow. What did surprise me was rounding the corner and finding said rooster loitering near the tea shop's front door. He and I checked each other out for a bit before he decided it was time to wander away. Gorgeous plumage - irridescent black.

Ooh. This chicken was rather shy (the second photo is such poor quality because I had to use the digital zoom on my camera to get 'close' enough!) but I love those moments when birds look you in the eye and look so intelligent and perceptive, you can't imagine how anyone could think they were sub-human.

and then they get sucked into jet engines and fly into picture windows, and you remember o_O
