Ugh.

What started off yesterday morning as a bad mood and a sore throat has turned into a full blown sick-being thing. And I'm sure there's a more grammatically correct way of saying that, but I am too sleep-deprived to work it out. My night consisted of sleeping for an hour, waking up sweating and with sandpaper mouth, drinking water (which was excruciating; my throat is swollen and sore and awful) and throwing off the covers to go back to sleep, then waking up an hour later because I was cold and had sandpaper mouth again, drinking more painful water and adding blankets, then starting the process all over again. I woke up five times before 8:00 this morning, at which point I figured I may as well get up, despite still being exhausted. I have an alarmingly large and rather painful lump in the right side of my neck (swollen gland) which appeared somewhere between 4 and 6pm yesterday (it wasn't there when I left the house, it was huge by the time I got to Monash)

I'm thinking doctor? Yeah. I'm thinking doctor, so you know it must be bad. Except I can't get there today. Or tomorrow, probably.

Man, I need to learn to drive, stat. I am taking my Learner's test next Wednesday, though, so that's step one. Still, what is with having a doctor you can't PT to? That means relying on my mother to drive me, which means convincing her it is worth going to the doctor (easier said than done). And NOW, not after seeing how it goes for a couple of days and having my head fall off or my skin turn black or something.

I suspect it is just a flu or throat infection of some kind, but there's a small chance it could be something more serious like glandular fever, and that's not something you want to leave untreated, right? And even if it is something less sinister, I like sleeping and being able to swallow kthx.

*cries* It hurts.

One good thing, though: last night I took an aptitude test as the second round of 'screening' for ColesMyer christmas casual jobs, and despite the fact that I felt I performed horrendously, I apparently scored higher than 94% of people in the field o_O Hopefully that means an interview, right? *crosses fingers*

All your [info]shehasathree shall belong to me!

Mwahahah.

*gentle hugs*
Swollen glands are unpleasent. Not usualy dangerous (at least mine never have been), but NOT NICE all the same.

Yay for possible employment.

They are indeed unpleasant, although yes, probably not life-threatening *s* Hoorah! My life appreciates not being threatened.

It took me a while to work out the context of that last comment, possibly because I was still thinking along the lines of glandular fever... o_O *does not wish to share glandular fever! maybe it is a good thing I am out of the country*

Yuk to being sick, anyway. I hope it isn't anything serious and that you feel lots better soon! *hugs and honeylemon drinks*

Because I'm never appreciated (yes I know, very poor me... everyone feel sorry for me... ) - It's my fault that Sarah is going for her Ls... so I committed a little fraud, all in the name of friendship. I gave her the book, booked her appointment, will drive her to East Burwood and have paid for said test. All she has to do is pass.

Yes, you'll probably get an interview. Last year I did it and scored 99%, got offered and interviews, but I couldn't manage to book an interview... That may be a problem again. But good luck.

Well, as I can attend an interview at any time, that should improve my chances. Also, I have got in before high school and uni finishes (afaik??) so I might manage to squeeze into the first round of people booking interviews, if I am offered one :)

Thanks! Yay, work.

*sends you those throat losengers with numbing stuff in them* Ugh, not good. But at least you have an appointment with Dr. House for the next /two/ nights! =D

Yay, numbness :) The problem is that I don't like the taste of menthol (it makes me nauseous), and it's really hard to find throat lozenges without menthol in them :(

Mmm, House. If he was my doctor, I think I might rapidly become a hypochondriac. Just to make him yell snark at me on a regular basis *grin*

Ah, it's a shame they make you feel nauseous. I agree they don't taste too good though. XD Well, I hope you find something to help you along.

Wouldn't we all? XD
